10 Months Old!

Dimples is 10 months old! Where has the time gone? She is a very busy girl these days, crawling like a pro and pulling up on everything. She is Erin's little shadow and wants to do everything she is doing (much to Erin's chagrin). She has also started "talking", and she can even say her name...though it sounds like "a-na-na-na-na". She is so sweet and interested in everything. She is eating like a champ, but would rather feed herself than eat the baby food that I feed her. I guess I'll need to figure out more foods that she can eat. She has a big sweet tooth and will steal cookies out of our hands if we aren't careful. She's a sneaky one! We are afraid she is really going to become a handful when she starts walking, which might be sooner than Erin. She just got 3 new teeth, so now she's got 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. She is not easy to diaper, and we have had to resort to the "stand-up" changes, which is always a challenge. She is definitely our wild child, and we wouldn't trade her for anything!

Obsessed

Erin has become obsessed with the combination of our swing set and the neighbors' trampoline. Whenever we go anywhere and get home, she darts around to the backyard. She starts out on the swing, then will go down the slide (with the new ramp Daddy made yesterday), then heads for the trampoline. It is very nice of them to share it with us. She will jump and jump as long as we let her. Now, Anna wants to get on there too, which makes Mommy nervous. Anyway, I just had to share the pictures of them in action, and in the matching dresses that Grandma and Grandpa F. got for them!
Otherwise, not much is new here to report. We have enjoyed being home for 3 weeks and had friends come over last weekend and this weekend. We are doing a few things around the house, but are mostly playing with the kids. Anna can now pull up to stand very easily and wants to do that all the time. She has also discovered the fun of emptying the bookshelf and any containers of toys. Oh, what a mess! She'll be 10 months old on Friday already!

Swing Set!

Uncle Chris, Logan, and Ansley came up here on Saturday to help build our new swing set! Thanks to them! I was on kid duty while Daddy and Uncle Chris worked hard on the swing set. We had gotten a kit from Ace Hardware and Josh helped Bob get the wood last Thursday from Home Depot. I wasn't directly involved with the building, but it seemed to go very well, with the exception of our yard not being level and they had to rig up a temporary support for the base and adjust the beam to make it level. Bob wants to stain it and put up a toddler-friendly ladder, but otherwise, it is done. Erin LOVES it. She stands at our kitchen window and gazes at it when she is not out there. She shows anybody who comes over where it is, and she always wants to be out there. It's a big hit! Anna hasn't caught on to the glory of the swings yet, and we may need to buy another baby swing because that's the one that Erin wants to use too.

Poor Anna was sick starting last Wednesday with a fever for 3 days. Bad Mommy just gave her motrin and didn't take her to the doctor, partly because by the time I realized it wasn't just a 24 hour thing, it was almost the weekend. She also didn't want to eat much and had a little runny nose, and was super fussy. And she slept a lot, which was nice! She is finally back to her old self, and we are all very happy about that. Now, all she wants to do is pull up on everything!

Not much else is new here...we are happy to have some warmer weather! As if assembling the swing set on Saturday wasn't enough, I somehow talked Bob into helping me trim bushes on Sunday. He is a trooper!
