Our summer so far!

What have we been up to the past month instead of updating this blog? Well, we've been busy, but not with anything too exciting! Let's see...here are the highlights. Anna had her birthday, which we had celebrated in Concord the weekend before, then she opened her present from Mommy, Daddy, and Erin on her actual birthday.

We went to Father Staib's 50th-anniversary-as-a-priest party, which was a really big deal with about 2,000 people, lots of yummy food, and bouncy houses! They also had a lot of games and entertainment for older kids and adults, but we stuck with the bouncy houses and bbq chicken.
Aunt Pam and cousin Jimmy came to visit over Memorial Day weekend, and we had so much fun seeing them. Anna learned a few tricks from Jimmy, mostly involving operating electronics. They are so cute together!
The following weekend, we went back to Concord to see Great Uncle Jerry and everyone else, and had a great time seeing Logan play t-ball, and eating pizza and Mexican food.

Grandma and Grandpa A. came to visit last week for 2 days, and we had lots of fun with them too, and Erin got to check out a new pizza buffet near our house. It was (not surprisingly) a hit. This past weekend, we just stayed here and tried to catch up on some things. Erin got to go to a birthday party on Saturday that was a lot of fun. Yesterday, Oliver came over and tried out our neighborhood pool.

Speaking of the pool, it's been so HOT that about all we can do is go to the pool, and that is only after dinner when it is bearable to be outside. Thankfully, this week should be cooler. Both kids love cruising around in their floats in the bathwater-warm pool. I can't blame them!

We are excited about Erin starting preschool in a week or two for 2 mornings a week. Mommy is especially excited to have some time with just Anna, and we think Erin will really enjoy/benefit from being around other kids. It may just be for the summer at this school, and she might switch to a different (closer) school in the fall, but we're excited to give it a try.

So, that's mostly it from here. We're just enjoying the summer and trying to stay cool! Bella is miffed at the lack of walking these days, but when we do take her out, she overheats like an old car. Erin got a new tricycle on Saturday and really took to it, so hopefully this week we can do some walks with Erin on her bike and Bella can come along.
