We got some egg coloring in at some point.
The following week was busy-busy with volunteering at school, helping prepare for the spring festival at school, Anna's class storybook play (no stage fright for our Fancy Nancy),

a fun mom lunch out, watching another dog friend Ruby, a couple of meetings, and picking Grandma and Grandpa A. up at the airport and hearing about their fun trip to Mexico!
The weekend of the 8th-9th was less busy - we got to go to a fun Easter egg hunt at church on the 9th

and had friends David and Pilar over for dinner that evening. We had another friend of Bob's over for dinner on Monday the 10th, Sharath, who came all the way from India to visit us (not really, of course)! We had more of the usual the week of the 10th, including the kids getting out at lunchtime on Thursday the 13th to begin Easter break. We went to Holy Thursday mass that evening, where I volunteered to have my feet washed for the first and probably last time - starting next year, Erin will be able to volunteer, and then Anna the year after. They are already planning on alternating years so our family will be represented (by them) forever.

Friday we met Olivia at a playground, then went back to church for Good Friday. Saturday after gymnastics, we loaded up and went to Myrtle Beach! We stayed two nights at the Dunes Village resort on the north end of Myrtle Beach. The Easter bunny managed to find us even at the beach, and we went to church in a high school auditorium on Easter morning. The place we stayed had lots to do - indoor and outdoor water fun, the beach, mini golf on site, tennis, etc.!

We drove back on Monday the 17th to continue the girls' week-long break. Sawyer came back the next day, plus we had painters over to do some painting of our guest room and two ceilings. They look great! While Bob supervised the painting, I took the girls and Sawyer up to Raleigh for Erin's cardiology check-up. We finally got to see an electrocardiologist this time - not just a general peds cardiologist. She suggested that Erin have an ablation - an outpatient procedure in a cath lab where they locate and essentially burn the pathway in her heart that causes her to have this rapid heart rate when her body is under stress (usually when she's sick/has a fever, could also be when she's exercising hard, but we've never noticed it then). This procedure is very safe and has an extremely high success rate for the type of SVT that she has. They know what type of SVT she has because it was able to be reversed with adenosine back in September when she was in the ER. Apparently other types do not respond to adenosine and are also less likely to have success with an ablation. The worst part of it is general anesthesia - older kids and adults don't require general anesthesia, but kids her age need to have it. This also means no more beta blocker, which the doctor and I (and Erin, who does not like medicine) agree is a good thing for her to not take that any more. Erin is also happy to be done taking it! So, she is scheduled for the procedure on June 19th.
Wednesday that week, we just had Sawyer and some girl time. Thursday was girls' day with a trip to the Y, Dunkin Donuts, the dentist, and ballet. Both checked out great and did well at the dentist (relatively well in Anna's case). Thursday night, Olivia came over to spend the night and stayed with us most of the day on Friday! The girls had a blast.

We also had Sawyer over on Friday. After all the kids who aren't mine went home, I went to Topsail Island with a few neighbor friends for neighbor Tracey's birthday. It was really nice to have a little kid-free time, and we had a yummy dinner and a nice tour of the island that weekend. I came back Saturday evening to help out with church stuff on Sunday and Little Flowers!
The 23rd was also Erin's half-birthday:

Monday the 24th was back to school for the home stretch of the school year. We had a pretty typical week, including a dinner delivery and visit to Aunt Pam and family after her appendectomy. I tried a new book club that Thursday that was nice, and Bob got to be a science fair judge on Friday the 28th for middle school students. He said there was a wide range of entries, some of which were impressive, some were parents' work, and some were done the night before! That afternoon we had the spring festival which was hot, but lots of fun. Sawyer even got to go, and Olivia was with us too! We were all wiped out after being in the 90-degree sun and not being accustomed to it yet for the summer.

This past weekend was pretty low-key with two gymnastics classes for Erin (one of which was a make-up from a canceled classes on the 8th), neighbor Caitlin's Bounce U party, and church.
So, April was basically training ground for the wild and crazy month of May. After May (the 21st, to be exact), we are home free for awhile. I decided that December and May are the two busiest months...all fun things, but busy nonetheless. We are looking forward to lots of fun and a relaxing summer ahead (hopefully)!
