I happened upon these super-cute outfits for the new baby at Kohl's on Saturday and had to get them for his/her "coming home" outfit. If it's a girl, she will have loads of hand-me-downs, and a boy will have some too from cousin Logan. So I figure the kid deserves something new for his/her homecoming!

Bedroom painting
Well, Bob worked hard last weekend (with very minimal help from me and Erin) and got our bedroom and closet painted. It looks much nicer - and bigger - with the beige instead of the red. Our new favorite paint, Behr Paint and Primer in One, covered the red in just 2 coats. Amazing! The furniture looks a lot better against the beige too. Now, we can get our new carpet upstairs since we are DONE painting this house! Each room has been painted at least once (ceilings too), and 4 rooms have been painted twice...but we finally have it such that we can live with it.

17 months old!
I know 17 months isn't a huge milestone, but I haven't posted anything in awhile, so I figured this would be a nice time to write an update. Erin technically was 17 months old on the 23rd, Tuesday, but better late than never!
We were talking a few days ago about Erin and how she is a funny combination of the two of us. Here are some examples of how she takes after Bob:
- She loves to have music on in the background, especially when she is working hard on Legos or drawing. It's even better to have multiple toys playing music at once.
- She's into buttons, remotes (not as much as her cousin though), and computers. I have recently introduced her to Sesame Street.org, and it's a huge hit!
- She's into being comfortable and loves her little armchair for watching TV.
- She likes to pet Bella and keep track of where she is...we hope to have her feeding, bathing, brushing, walking, (etc.) Bella before long!
And how she takes after me:
- Her appetite...it's more than healthy! At least her metabolism can support it - which is not the case for others of us (me)!
- Her patience, or lack thereof :)
- She always wants dessert after meals, no matter how much she eats.
- Reading...but she definitely puts me to shame with her love of books!
- She may have a tiny bit of OCD - but isn't it better anyway to clean things up right after you use them?
So those are a few I thought of quickly. She's so much fun, and we - of course - think that she is a very smart little girl. She still isn't saying much, but she will "repeat" (babble) back to us if we ask her to say something. She knows her numbers and usually can get her letters by pointing at them.
Well, this weekend is going to be spent painting our master bedroom, despite my protests. At least once the paint is done, we can get our new carpet upstairs! Anyone feel like doing some painting???

New Room, Completed!
Here is Erin's new room, FINISHED! She slept in it last night, and did great...even with the time change. She also took a good nap in there today, so we think the room is a hit. Thanks to Grandma F. for the cute flower wreath and hook/wall hangings, and thanks to Grandma A. for helping Mommy make the window valance. Everything fits in there great, and we love the new dresser and nightstand from JC Penney. Her old room looks sad and empty...but not for long - 2 more months until little brother or sister is here!
Here are a few pictures, and more can be found here:

Don't miss the post below to see her in action at church this morning!

This Week
Erin has had another busy and fun week! We have been enjoying the warmer weather and have been on several walks and trips to the playground. Her favorite things at the playground are walking around on the mulch and going down the slide. Swinging is pretty fun too! Grandma and Grandpa F. came to visit on Sunday, and she got to play with them and show off her spaghetti-eating skills. Grandma A. came to visit Monday to Wednesday, and we had lots of fun making a valance for her new bedroom window and playing. She showed off her burrito-eating skills for her. Otherwise, we have just been doing the usual and staying busy. We'll get some playground pictures soon! In the meantime, here are some new tricks:
