March!

We had a great March!  Bob was in California the first week of the month, and was home in time for the first of three fish fries on Friday the 3rd.  Saturday the 4th, the girls had a spring practice/mock recital for piano, which they enjoyed.  Anna had a playdate at friend Gabi's house on Sunday.  The following week was a good one for me with book club on Monday, accompanying the second graders to the Museum of Life and Science on Tuesday, and piano parent week that evening!  The field trip was a blast and the kids really seemed to enjoy it.

I also got to catch up with my old moms' group friends that Thursday evening, and got new tires for my car.  Friday I was able to go to Indian Trail for my friend Whitney's mom's funeral.  That was very sad, but it was a beautiful funeral and Melanie and I were glad that we were able to go.

Saturday the 11th, we had a meet-and-greet for houseguest Froyo (a dog) who stayed with us the first weekend in April.  Then we were able to go to a Carolina Hurricanes hockey game that evening with Uncle Tom!  The girls were pleased to again sit in the Red Hat box.  They really have it made.

Sunday the 12th was Little Flowers after the SNOW that fell that morning!  It was a winter wonderland at 8am, and in the 50s by noon with no trace of snow left.  We enjoyed the little bit of snow we did have.  The following week was a nice short one, with the girls off Thursday and Friday for "spring break" (not to be confused with the 10-day Easter break, which is coming up in April).  We had a quiet day on Thursday with just the three of us, and a loud day on Friday with Erin playing at Olivia's house all day, Anna's friend Annie coming over here, and Sawyer was here too.  It was a fun day!  We had the second fish fry that evening, which was less well-attended due to St. Patrick's Day and the long weekend.

On the 18th, we all got to have a wonderful dinner over at Olivia's new house, which may be Bob's dream house.  They live near Jordan Lake in Chatham County, but are just 15 minutes from the school.  Their house is a log cabin on a wooded 5 acres and it is just beautiful!  It feels like you're in the mountains right here near Raleigh.  We had a great time!  The following week, Bob went back to California, and we had a puzzle to figure out because Erin ended up coming down with the flu!

She missed 3 days of school and I called in all kinds of favors to get Anna to and from school, rearranged piano, etc. while Bob was gone, but it all worked out well, and the rest of us managed to avoid getting sick.  I was thankful for neighborhood Bunco Thursday night to see some adults!  The 25th-26th weren't too busy other than Bob covered the monthly columbarium info sessions at church.  He jetted off to Vegas the following Monday, which was also the first week of Sawyer's 3-week track-out.  I have been staying busy with school volunteering, helping get ready for the spring festival there, and regular chores.  I didn't even pretend that I was going to paint the guest room like I claim to do every time he tracks out.  Instead, I am hiring a painter to do that this week!

We rounded out the month with some special visitors (Grandma and Grandpa A.) on the 31st who stayed here before leaving for Cancun on the morning of the 1st!  They were able to go pick the girls up from school on Friday and go to the finale fish fry for the season.  All in all, it was a good month, minus Erin's sickness, and now we jump into the busy spring season here in the home stretch of the school year.  Summer will be here before we know it!  Here's Anna with her new piano lesson book:
