We Survived July...

Well, that about sums up how I feel about last month!  No, really, it was lots of fun, and we did so many really fun things.  July involved a lot of travel, which is no small feat with two little ladies who have lots of luggage!  Erin was off school the whole month, which was so great to spend lots of time with her.  She had a great time being at home too!  We started the month off right with a visit from Grandma A., who came up to help watch Cole.  We left on the 3rd for the beach and had lots of fun there for the next 3 days.  Erin, Anna, and Mommy had a great week from the 8th-12th when they went to a half-day Mini Monarchs preschool camp at our church.  It was the nature-themed week, which is not really Anna's cup of tea, but she stuck it out and managed to enjoy herself, even with all the rain that hindered some of their activities.  We had fun with Cole and his parents sleeping over on the 13th.  Daddy jetted off to California on the 15th for work and got back the night of the 17th, and Grandma was here again to help out with Cole.  We left on the 18th for our big trip to Washington DC, which went really well, as you can see HERE.

We took it easy the week after, which for us, means lots of trips to the neighborhood pool, pool at the Y, dance class, library, church, errands, fun with Cole, playground visits, Erin's weekly OT appointment, and exercising/playing in the nursery at the Y.

We started to get back in the school routine with the parent meeting on the 30th and Erin's first day on August 1st.  She will remain in the same class she's been in for the past 2 years, since her birthday is after the kindergarten cut-off date.  We will find out in the spring what Erin's academic future holds for her.  Grandma and Aunt Maria handled her first day since Bob and I were in sunny Orlando from August 1st to the 4th to help celebrate neighbor friend Kevin's birthday!  Anna finished up dance class on the 31st, and the girls both started gymnastics the same day.  Erin did very well and enjoyed herself; Anna was nervous, resulting in a complete meltdown when the coach tried to help her do forward and backward rolls.  We are hoping she will be willing to give it a second chance this week.

Also, notable in July, is our booking of THE DISNEY WORLD TRIP in January!  We got the hotel and meals that we were hoping for and are very excited about it.  Bob and I are reminded of the trip several times a day, despite our attempts to put it out of our minds.

So, August looks quieter, just going to Concord over the 17th-18th for a belated Grandma birthday celebration; otherwise, back to school and getting excited for fall!
