Wow, Erin is 12 weeks old today! Our baby is growing up so fast! New changes this week include the exersaucer, which she hated the first time but now likes it (for the most part), and 2 days ago she decided to like tummy time for 5-10 minutes at a time. Breakthrough! She's still a little floppy in the exersaucer, but she does like being upright and looking around. She even played with the toys on it. Thanks, Josh and Kati, for loaning it to us! She likes to play a lot more now, and she loves reading books. It's so much fun to play with her now that she's more interested in toys and books. She's also much less fussy in general - no more trips up and down the stairs (we hope)!
I'm sure you will be happy to read that I promise to not whine about sleep anymore, but I will say that nights are starting to get a little better. She has gone to bed in her crib without too much fight the past 2 nights (after a bath and about an hour of eating/pacifying herself), though she tends to stay awake for over an hour in the middle of the night - not crying, just awake. We keep her in her room, leave it dark, and won't talk to her while we try to get her back to sleep. Hopefully she'll get the point, or eventually stop waking up at all. Daytime naps are still a struggle and I have typically been resorting to bouncy seat/car ride after an hour or so of trying the crib. I want her to get straight with naps in the next 4 weeks before day care, but I am starting to think that she is on her own schedule and will do what she wants, no matter what I want. I am very nervous about sending her to day care for many reasons, but am trying not to think about it just yet.
She's eating up a storm and growing so well! She had a little setback with being sick for 2 weeks, but I think she's making up for it now. She still has a little congestion and cough, but it doesn't slow her down or wake her up any more. We are still working on the bottle with no luck yet, and have given up on the pacifiers (all 3 types!).
In other news, I caught Bella with one of Erin's toys this morning...it's going to be hard to teach her the difference between her squeaky toys and Erin's!

I'm glad things are better! Logan used to love the exersaucer too, and we used to laugh at how he studied that book that's on there:). I'm sure she will settle down to a better nap schedule, too. I don't remember Logan's being really consistent, but maybe being at daycare will actually help Erin to figure it out! Oh, and no baby news yet, so we'll see...
I think you still reserve every right to complain about her keeping you up... even when it's because she stays out too late with friends in high school! It's part of being a mom.
It's so great to hear that things are going better.
I second that. Complain away! It's tough, and you get to gripe about it. Plus, it makes me feel less alone in having complained non-stop when Oliver was little :)
