January 2013!

Happy Belated New Year to everyone!  We kicked 2013 off to a great start with an NCSU basketball game on New Years Eve, a fun 2-day 40th birthday extravaganza for our neighbor Tom the following weekend, and dance class for Erin on the 6th.

After most kids went back to school, we continued our fun together for the next 3 weeks of Erin's track-out.  We went to Marbles on the 8th, had friends come to play on the 10th, and had a fun shopping/beer tasting/child sharing day with Uncle Dale and Aunt Maria.

We met our friend Ella for lunch on the 12th, played with our old neighbor friends on the 14th, and had a really fun day at the Museum of Life and Science with Oliver on the 18th.  Daddy got to check out Sparians bowling alley for Ms. Liz's birthday too!

We also had our usual trips to the YMCA, my church group, and some fun Wednesdays with Cole.  Erin went back to school on the 22nd, much to her chagrin, and is slowly getting back into that routine.  We enjoyed our "ice storm" last Friday and Saturday and while the girls were not crazy about the ice, they definitely enjoyed our slumber party morning with a movie and their sleeping bags out.

We've enjoyed a calm January after all the holiday fun!  Erin had her third dental appointment this past Monday and got a good report and did very well.  And, though technically it's in February, Erin and Daddy went to a dance at her school tonight.  Erin enjoyed herself but didn't really love it, partly due to confusion of being at school at night, and partly being tired from the week.

The biggest news here is that Anna has been working very hard on potty training!  She's been at it for just over a week and is doing so well!  Mommy is still afraid to leave the house without a diaper, but she has gone a few days without accidents.  She is getting better at telling us when she needs to go, and has even pooped in the potty once!  She continues to rely heavily on her sticker chart and M&M rewards, but we are slowly weaning her off of those.  We are shocked at how easy it has been this time around, and are so very proud of her!  Pampers is about to go out of business!
