We spared no time for mourning, as I got to leave that afternoon for a super fun weekend in Nashville for my cousin Neal's wedding! It was so much fun to spend a couple of days away and see lots of family.
Nashville was really neat too - I had never been there before! We did some sightseeing before the wedding. Daddy and the girls stayed busy that weekend with gymnastics, a birthday party, and church stuff.
The week of the 6th was our adjustment week to summer mode. We still had Sawyer for all of June, as his mom is on a year-round schedule. Having 3 kids is pretty busy, but we got used to it and the girls are very good sports (most of the time) about having him around. Anna started her summer ballet class and has been enjoying it very much! Erin also has had speech about once every 2 weeks with the therapist coming to our house. She is tolerating the invasion of privacy pretty well. We had a fun swimming playdate with Jimmy and Danny at their pool that week as well.
Monday the 13th, we met a few of Anna's school friends at Luke's awesome pool in Cary! It was a blast and wiped all of us girls out! The girls started piano lessons on the 13th, and that has been going well also. Erin really seems to be taking to it well and enjoys practicing, etc. Anna...the verdict is still out. I had neighborhood bunco on the 16th, and we met some friends from my old bible study at a park on the 17th. That was a fun and busy week. Bob was out of town for part of the week too. We went to Concord that weekend and had lots of fun with Grandma and Grandpa's water park (super awesome inflatable water slide/sprayer/pool) and cousins!
Happy Father's Day to Bob on the 19th! I think he enjoyed his day.
Erin went to the dentist on the 19th to get sealants on her molars and did great. We went to a Durham Bulls baseball game that night as well, and the adults enjoyed that (read between the lines here).
Bob traveled some that week, and we tried a school-aged program at the library on Tuesday. It was fun except for Anna having an upset tummy. We invited Anna's school friends to our pool on Thursday the 23rd and had a blast. The girls tried their first-ever vacation bible school that Thursday and Friday evening at Anna's old preschool with a few neighbor friends. Erin liked it and Anna tolerated it. Anna also got her ears pierced (she asked out of the blue!) on the 24th.
We got a fun visit from Ansley and her family on the 26th-27th, and took them to our pool, as well as to Kids Together Park on Monday. It was so much fun to have a cousin sleepover at our house! Erin had friend Kasey over to play on the 28th, which was lots of fun too. We also went to swim with Jimmy and Danny again on the 30th. Bob was in California all of that week for an annual Red Hat conference.
That pretty much sums up June! It was busy with the girls plus Sawyer, but he will have a break in July and I'll just have the ladies. We are looking forward to a fun month with our super fun Canada trip in a couple of weeks, followed by Totus Tuus "church camp"! The air is starting to heat up, so we are bracing ourselves for the heat of summer...it will be nice to escape to the north for a little while!
