February!

Another month is behind us!  February is always a fun one with a few extra celebrations.  We started out the month by finishing up Catholic Schools week which was full of special dress down days that the girls appreciated.  On the 3rd, after Erin's ballet class, we all went to Concord for Ansley's fun birthday party!  The girls continued the party with a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's, and then a fun family lunch on Sunday.  We just watched the Superbowl at home that evening.  Anna had her first reconciliation on Tuesday the 6th; after much angst leading up to it, she said it was "fun".  May all of her confessions be fun!  We had a fun ice cream outing to celebrate after dinner.

I had a new experience on the 8th of getting my first crown on a tooth.  Due to lots of acid reflux during pregnancy and some tooth grinding during the stressful time of nursing school/pregnancy/newborns, I had worn down 2 teeth.  The crown process was easy and they were able to make it in the office while I was there.  I was a-ok to sit and watch tv for 2 hours!

Saturday the 10th was the big Sweetheart Dance at school.  The girls and Bob had a blast, and I had a blast running errands, eating Chinese food, and cleaning the house alone!

Olivia came over after the dance for a quick sleepover before meeting back up with her family at church the next morning.

The following week was Spirit Week at school which meant 5 more days of special dress-down days in celebration of the middle school basketball teams going to a tournament in Charlotte.  I had book club that Monday night and parent observation at piano lessons on Tuesday, which was a fun way to spend my birthday!  I also got to volunteer in Anna's class and help with Erin's third grade Valentine's Party that day, plus a yummy lunch out with Bob and pizza for dinner.  What a great day!

The rest of the week was fun too, with Valentine's Day and Jimmy's science birthday party on Friday!  We had a busy weekend starting with ballet on Saturday, then neighbor Nina and Lily's trampoline birthday party at Defy Gravity,

then Sarah came over to spend the night with Anna!  It was a fun rainy day.

Sunday the 18th we had our friends the Lorenzetti's over for dinner which was lots of fun too!  The girls were off the 19th and 20th for "winter break"...Monday, we had Sawyer here, so we went to preschool storytime and Target to please everyone.  I went to Anna's First Communion parent meeting that night.  Tuesday, we ladies went to play with Enzo, Luke, and puppy Mel at their house and then the 3 of us went to Gonza for lunch before resting at home, taking a walk, and then piano.  It was a nice long weekend.  Anna started back to tennis that week as well, and she was happy to get back in the swing of things (see what I did there?).

The rest of that week was fairly uneventful with Bob coming to the aid of the Knights regarding a fish fry software disaster.  He and others had a few meetings, divided up some code, and were able to rebuild what was broken.  Whew!  We did a little science fun after school one day.

Saturday the 24th we met Liz and David for lunch at yummy new Cristo's near our house after ballet, and then we 4 went to Brier Creek for our staycation at a Residence Inn!  Bob had a voucher for a free night expiring at the end of the month, so we found a hotel with an indoor pool.  We all had fun swimming, going out to dinner, and having hotel breakfast.  Cheapest vacation ever!

This week has been a good one too - Bob spent 3 days in San Jose/Santa Clara for a conference, and the rest of us are doing the usual things.  It's been rainy and tennis has been canceled both days, but hopefully next week will be better.

So, that was February!  Spring will be upon us soon, if not already.  The week of the 18th, we had some highs near 80 degrees, which I did not appreciate.  Thankfully, we're back in the 50s-60s this week.  It's too soon for the 80s!  We are looking forward to another month of work, fun, and nothing too crazy before the late spring rush hits!
