January!

We had a great first month of 2019!  Somehow we avoided any kind of weather event in January, but there is still time for some snow.  We started the month with church and a good luck dinner that the kids didn't love, but hopefully the good luck will stick!

It was back to school already on the 2nd, and they were happy to see friends and teachers.  I would call January the Month of Painting, which started on Saturday the 4th when we painted Anna's bedroom.  Also that day, we girls met up with Olivia, Josie, and Dawn at a fun park and Erin and I went to see the new Mary Poppins movie.

The week of the 7th was back in the swing of things and lamenting the end of the fun Christmas season.  However, it's always nice to be back to normal too.  We had the gamete of activities, book club, etc.  Bob helped take down the nativity at church on Saturday.  We also painted Erin's room that day, as well as their bathroom the next day.

Now we are caught up on painting except for the dining room, which intimidates me quite a bit!  The following week was more of the same...Anna was off on Friday for a teacher workday, and we had some relaxed time at home, library time, a trip to the dentist to get sealants on 4 of her molars, and then a shopping excursion before picking Erin up.  It was a fun day!

We have begun seriously looking at dogs, and Anna and I went to an adoption event at Petco that Saturday, but couldn't find any perfect dogs for us.  We also had a yummy lunch at Panera while we were there!

The girls were off school for MLK Day on the 21st, and we enjoyed a fun time at Defy trampoline park for Madelyn's birthday party!  The rest of the short week was fairly uneventful until Saturday when we hosted dog friend Mel for the day, Bob went to clean up at church pre fish fry season, and Natalie came over to play!

Bob went to the frigid north the week of the 28th and was a part of the extreme cold temps in Boston.  Travel went fine though, and it was cold here too!  Anna was home sick that Monday with a cold, but so far it has not developed into anything else.  The girls had a few fun events at school that week for Catholic Schools Week.  All in all, it was a fairly quiet month, and we are ok with that!
