2021

2021 was another year dominated by the coronavirus pandemic...in many ways, the situation has improved as the vaccine was distributed, and as scientists learned more about how the virus is transmitted and how to treat patients who have it, but it continues to dominate most aspects of our lives.  Work, school, church, and activities are still affected in some way by it.  This year brought two big surges in Covid cases by the delta variant in the summer and then the omicron variant in the winter.  The virus mutates as a way to survive and continue spreading.  It's hard to tell if the vaccines still work against these variants because government and media use them as a reason to encourage vaccinations, but it seems like they do.

But, anyway...here is a quick recap:

January: 2 weeks of remote learning due to increased Covid cases, Erin's first time reading in church as a part of Catholic Schools Week

February: Gina's 40th birthday!

March:  Erin danced in the HSSOD Dance Theater performance, YMCA spring soccer begins for Anna

April:  Spring break trip to Fort Lauderdale

May:  Erin piano recital, Bob and Anna's birthdays, Anna breaks her arm in soccer

June:  End of school, Erin ballet recital, trip to Fort Wayne, Erin ballet summer intensive at St. Marys, Anna volleyball camp at Gibbons

July:  Summer dance classes for Erin, futsal for Anna, summer fun!

August: Trip to Utah and Southern California, school begins (6th and 7th grades), ballet and piano begin for Erin, Anna begins school volleyball and YMCA fall soccer

September:  Indian Beach weekend

October:  Erin's birthday!  Halloween

November:  Anna makes the school basketball team, Olivia here for 9 days, laundry room renovation, Thanksgiving

December:  Bob begins working at Google, landscaping, porch project begins, Christmas!

So, it was a good year, but we are hoping for even more normalcy in 2022!
