Erin's first stitches

Poor little Erin got her first (and hopefully only) 2 stitches on Saturday. Daddy had his one day home in 3 weeks, so Mommy pawned him off on the girls and went to the Smithfield outlets. Daddy took them to New Hill Park, which I have never been to, but looks very fun. I had been at Smithfield for about 15 minutes when I got a call..."Erin fell at the park". She was up on the playground equipment, tripped, and caught her right temple on something on the way down. I don't think she fell very far, luckily.

Thanks to modern technology, Bob sent me a picture, and we decided that he should take her to urgent care to have them decide if it needed stitches. The cut was short but wide, and the bleeding wasn't too bad, but it did stop and start a couple of times. So, Bob took both girls (including a hysterical Anna) to the new Rex Express Care here in Holly Springs, and after an unnecessarily long wait and restratining poor Erin, she got her 2 stitches. She has been very good and hasn't acted like they are hurting her, nor has she tried to mess with them. We go on Thursday to have them removed. Mommy gets to handle that fun! I would take them out myself if I had the right scissors and a helper, but I guess we'll just go there.

So, that was our Saturday excitement! Let's hope the next Daddy Day is less traumatizing!

Why do I have a feeling that Bob was probably the most traumatized by this experience? :) Poor Erin, glad it wasn't any worse and that she's handling it like a trooper. Good luck at the removal appointment!
