In true Bob and Gina fashion, we have decided that, instead of getting regular furniture like normal people, we wanted to get unfinished furniture for the baby's room and stain it to (hopefully) match the crib. Today we went to the
Unfinished Furniture Outlet just south of Sanford and found a dresser and night stand. They are made of
parawood, something we just learned about today. The people there were very nice and they have a big selection of stuff. We then took a piece of the crib to Home Depot and got stain and polyacrylic that will (hopefully) match the crib. So that's our next big project. The rocking chair is also almost ready to be stained - that project has definitely picked up pace since the purchase of an electric sander. Bob won't let me use the electric sander, and I am not complaining about that. Don't worry, moms...he has a face mask!

We also got a second shelf to put in the baby's closet, so between the closet and the dresser, we'll have plenty of room for lots of clothes! And before you complain about the quality of these pictures, let me tell you that we also purchased a camera this weekend! I cannot give specifics because this is Bob's department, but I do know that it is a Canon and it will be arriving in a week. So with the new camera, I will no longer have any excuses for my shaky pictures.

Tomorrow afternoon is our ultrasound...stay tuned for details!

That's really nice and well-built looking furniture. Can't wait to see it stained!
Bob, what kind of camera?
A Canon Digital Rebel XTi (SLR)... the camera we have isn't working that well anymore and we wanted a nice one to take pictures to post on our blog.
Our dSLR was absolutely one of the best purchases we've ever made. The battery life, shutter response time and light gathering abilities of the large lens will avert many marital conflicts. I kid you not.
The shutter response time in particular will prove its worth when your kid starts moving around. Little known fact - baby smiles last approximately 1 nanosecond and you've got to be prepared with the camera.
I keep checking and can't wait...hurry up with the ultrasound update!!
