Ultrasound postponed

Our ultrasound for tomorrow had to be rescheduled for next Tuesday, 5/27, due to my clinical rotation at Rex. I am sorry that we will all have to wait another week for more pictures of the baby. We are both still SET on not finding out if it is a boy or a girl, so don't hold your breath for that!

I wish we had more updates for everyone, but there's not a whole lot going on lately since the graduation hoopla. Bob moved the guest room bed into the computer room yesterday to free up space in the baby's room. Now we need to figure out what to do with that futon, which is TEMPORARILY in the baby's room. Anyone want one??? It's a little crowded in the computer room now, but it may be manageable. We will see.

I am feeling good, no complaints for the past week or so. I think being busy with school helps me not think about my tummy hurting, plus now that tomorrow starts Week 19 (!), maybe a lot of that is behind me. I am trying very hard not to buy a bunch of baby stuff, but it is really difficult not to!

Aside from baby stuff, there's not much else going on. I am in the throes of summer school, a 10-week whirlwind of craziness before GRADUATION!!! I spent all weekend at Rex hospital in Raleigh for my "capstone", a.k.a. med/surg part 2, clinical. This is my first time with a preceptor, and Leslie was right, it is much better than other clinicals. Instead of trying to compete with 7 other students for our instructor's time, it's just me and my preceptor, who is a wonderful nurse. Hopefully I will be like her some day! Somehow she gets people to do stuff they don't want to do, but they still like her. The floor I am on for the first 4 weeks is a regular adult med/surg floor with lots of surgical patients. I learned so much in 2 days already, and so far I really like med/surg...to me, it's not as scary as other places like ICU or pediatrics, but it's definitely a workout trying to take care of 5 people at the same time!

Bob is doing the full-time working thing, and it seems to be going well. It was great to get that first paycheck! His actual work hasn't changed much at all from the past several months. All in all, it is going well...no trips are in his near future, but who knows what will come up. He almost got to go to Beijing, but someone else is going instead. Oh well, maybe next time.

That stinks that you had to postpone the ultrasound. But it's good to hear things are still going well. I'm going to send those diapers and the baby bathtub with Josh to BLO on Thursday. I've got a few books that I'll send along as well, if you need even MORE information. It seems like everyone says something a little bit different!

My prediction (based on absolutely nothing) is that you're going to have a boy. What do I win if I'm right?

Thanks for all the stuff! We really appreciate it and we will think of some way to reciprocate. If you're right that it's a boy, you can choose between a gently used futon and a 50 year old dresser!
